We are creating fan-based short films, animations or machinima videos and we have been doing this as non profit, volunteer work since the year 2013.
We have members from around the world with professional media backgrounds as well as hobbyists. Currently, we have around 10 members working on the project with more helping.
Hired Steel has been a continually growing project. It has evolved a lot since the Pilot in 2020 and so has our team.
Hired Steel also serves as a way to try new technologies, learn and optimize workflows and connect with talent around the globe. The ultimate goal is to create high quality output faster and more frequent.
To sum it up:
“Making episodes longer and cooler :)”
For future releases, we are looking into several improvements:
Integrating Unreal Engine 5.1 into our pipeline
Utilizing realtime VFX Tools such as Embergen to speed up FX pipelines
Creating and animating custom Metahuman clothing, gear and humans
Integrating spatial audio into our films
Leverage emerging motion capture technologies
